Basics: Kumihimo

Learn the basic setup, braiding and finishing options using a Kumihimo Disc.

Kumihimo, Japanese for “gathered threads,” is a form of braid-making. Cords and ribbons are made by interlacing strands. With this skill you can make necklaces, or bracelets for everyday wear, or a special occasion.

2 to 4 colors of 1mm or 2mm Rattail 4 yard minimum or Rattail Mix
2 6mm End Caps
2 jumprings
1 clasp
E6000 or Gem-Tac
Micro, Fine S-Lon or Tuf Cord #1 thread

8 bobbins
Cord cutters
