Using rattail and a 6″ Kumihimo disc learn the basic setup, braiding and finishing options using a Kumihimo Disc.

Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braid-making. Cords and ribbons are made by interlacing strands. Kumihimo is Japanese for “gathered threads”. With this skill you can make necklaces, or bracelets for everyday wear, or a special occasion.

Class time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Materials Needed

  • 2 to 4 colors of 1mm or 2mm Rattail 4 yard minimum or Rattail Mix
  • 2 6mm End Caps
  • 2 jumprings
  • 1 clasp
  • E6000 or Gem-Tac
  • Micro, Fine S-Lon or Tuf Cord #1 thread

Tools Required

  • 6″ Kumihimo Disc
  • 8 bobbins
  • Cord cutters
