Basics: Kumihimo Registration
Description
Using rattail and a 6″ Kumihimo disc learn the basic setup, braiding and finishing options using a Kumihimo Disc.
Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braid-making. Cords and ribbons are made by interlacing strands. Kumihimo is Japanese for “gathered threads”. With this skill you can make necklaces, or bracelets for everyday wear, or a special occasion.
Class time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Materials Needed
- 2 to 4 colors of 1mm or 2mm Rattail 4 yard minimum or Rattail Mix
- 2 6mm End Caps
- 2 jumprings
- 1 clasp
- E6000 or Gem-Tac
- Micro, Fine S-Lon or Tuf Cord #1 thread
Tools Required
- 6″ Kumihimo Disc
- 8 bobbins
- Cord cutters
